Edward LaFreniere

Edward N. LaFreniere joined the company in 1994 as managing editor and in 2001 was promoted to his current position. In that capacity, he oversees the creation of all the company’s content, in both English and Spanish, for its print and electronic editions.

He also oversees the Custom Feature Center, where custom content for subscribers is produced, and the Communications Distribution Center, which handles program fulfillment.

Previously, Mr. LaFreniere held the position of assistant managing editor of The Hartford Courant, where he had also served as the newspaper’s front-page editor. He has won numerous awards from the Society for Newspaper Design and design and editing awards from New England newspaper organizations.

He is the past chairman of the annual fund drive at Our Lady of Mercy School in Madison, Connecticut, and was a volunteer fund-raiser at the Williams School in New London, Connecticut.

Mr. LaFreniere holds a BA in journalism from the University of Maine, Orono. He and his wife, Barbara, live in Clinton, Connecticut. They have one son.
