WALLINGFORD, CT — The AVA Digital Awards announced the winners of its 2019 international awards competition last week, and Marlin received the highest honors for its industrial safety and crystalline silica dust content.
AVA Digital recognizes outstanding achievement by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design and production of media that is part of the evolution of digital communication. Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
“Marlin received Platinum Honors for their crystalline silica dust series for the excellent use of motion graphics explanation and for their industrial safety series for excellence in internal employee communications,” said Ed Dalheim, Executive Director of the AVA Digital Awards. “These awards represent the expertise, talent, and creativity of Marlin’s content team.”
“We’re proud to receive recognition for our industrial safety content,” said Carolyn Voelkening, Chief Content Officer. “Our team of professional designers and writers also includes an OSHA-certified content strategist, and every day we work to move the needle on employee safety by converting complex safety issues into emotionally engaging content that will resonate with today’s workers.”
Voelkening was equally enthusiastic about the crystalline silica series award. “As a performance-based regulation, OSHA’s new crystalline silica standard requires that employees must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of hazards if questioned during an onsite visit. It’s vitally important that companies make sure their safety information is accessible, visual and easy to understand. The AVA award confirms what we’re hearing from our customers—the Marlin crystalline silica series is an effective tool to add to your safety communication tool box.”
Marlin also received 2019 AVA Digital Awards Gold Honors for a series of human resource videos dealing with sexual harassment and bullying, and for a transportation video on preventing cargo theft.
“For every industry we cover—whether it’s transportation or manufacturing, warehouse or sanitation, healthcare or hospitality—we formulate our content to address the whole person and to promote a healthy workplace culture,” said Voelkening. “It’s great to get recognition for both the HR content and the theft video because the videos reflect our broad, inclusive view of employee safety.”
